TfL seek to extend 483 bus in Ealing past hospital

I’d missed this news but TfL are looking to extend the 483 bus a few stops past Ealing Hospital.

The route currently runs from Harrow to Ealing Hospital via Ealing Broadway, Hanwell, Wembley and Harrow. It would no longer pull into Ealing Hospitals bus stop but carry on along Uxbridge Road.

The extension would see it run from Ealing Hospital to Windmill Lane so that the “transport network is accessible to even more parts of the local area.”

Those who would benefit include 2,000 people who work on the Great Western Industrial Estate and those living in 350 homes who will be close to newly served stops – particularity on Windmill Park Estate.

As far as I can tell there is no joined up strategy for public transport as far as TfL is concerned. The are removing the possibility of residents travellinv to hospital appointments by bus while promoting car free policies in ndw build developments. Those responsible for these strategies seem not to understand that many people need to get to outpatient clinics and services without using private transport. Surely LBE and CCG need to represent residents before these proposals are implemented.
