Restaurant review: Vera’s Kitchen – Thai restaurant in West Ealing

This cosy little place may have been around for a while but if so then it escaped me. It’s a Thai restaurant that does a cracking lunch menu at a bargain of £6 for main and drink.

I first passed it whilst taking a shortcut through Leeland Road off Uxbridge Road. Leeland Road has some interesting places to eat including a Persian bread shop and Haru sushi and ramen restaurant (well worth a visit).

We took our seats and a friendly staff member popped over. It was her first day on the job. We asked for the lunch menu to see what was on offer and noticed they do English breakfasts too if you fancy that.

I opted for Pad Thai. A true staple and a good test of how they do the basics. It was very good. Not too greasy as is quite common and succulent chicken. As good as one I’d had a week before that cost 2-3 times the price. For six quid including a drink. Excellent.

The starter was also top notch. Nice and crunchy.

All in all this is a place I’d happily return to as well as order takeaways. They also do Malaysian favourites such as Nasi Goreng which isn’t always the easiest to find.

I’d give it 8.5/10. It adds to variety and good quality food in the area. A bit of a hidden gem.

Vera’s kitchen has a Facebook page here.
