Who doesn’t love a nice traffic-clogged one way system? Wel, now’s your chance to get a bit of the action on a continual basis as plans are in to convert Westgate House by the Hanger Lane gyratory into 311 flats.
The office building will be converted under what is known as “permitted development rights”. This was introduced under the last coalition government and allows conversion of office buildings to residential.
It also means by-passing many former planning rules, not having to provide any affordable housing not contribute any money to the local authority to mitigate the impact of large developments.
There will be 52 car parking space and 362 cycle space. The immediate area is pretty rough for pedestrians and yet most will use the nearby tube station.
