129-home development coming to Acton

Plans for 129-homes in Acton have seen detailed planning applications for various elements of the scheme. The development is located on an island between Gibbon Road, Foster Road, Glendun Road and Western Avenue. There will be 59 parking spaces.

These are plots 11 and 12 on a larger scheme which will be covered in future.

The buildings will be up to 5-storeys high with a buffer between Western Avenue dual carriageway and this development.

The site is equidistant between Acton Mainline station on the First Great Western route into Paddington and Crossrail in future, Acton Central on London Overground and East Acton tube station.

Acton Mainline is seeing an upgrade for Crossrail:

According to Network Rail:

“The proposals for a bright, modern, spacious new ticket hall are part of the Crossrail project in preparation for the arrival of Elizabeth line services. The striking new glass and steel structure, designed by Bennetts Associates on behalf of Network Rail, will be located on Horn Lane.

A range of other major improvements will be made to the station, including:

  • New lifts to provide step-free access to every platform
  • Platform extensions to accommodate the new 200 metre long trains
  • New platform canopies, lighting, customer information screens, station signage, help points and CCTV

The transformation of the station will be carried out by Network Rail as part of their Railway Upgrade Plan. From the end of 2017 the station will be run by Transport for London as part of London’s integrated transport network.”

The housing plans plans were approved in August 2016 with further detailed plans recently submitted.

The planning reference is PP/2015/3265

I think you meant North Acton Station rather than East Acton. Those houses are on the A40 from North Acton towards Park Royal…
