Updated plans for Hanwell flats

A couple of weeks ago plans were covered for a block of flats at 144-156 Uxbridge Road in Hanwell. It appears the planning application hasbeen updated and I’d used previous designs in the post. Sorry about that. Thanks to those who notified me on Facebook. Here’s a look at updated plans:

Earlier plans had 40 flats. This has 36 flats and seven houses on Westminster Road. Plans for flats on Westminster Road have been replaced with the aforementioned seven homes. This scheme has seen much opposition with 224 comments on plans at the time of writing, with many of those in opposition.

Here’s a sample of comments opposed to the plans:

“At its core this proposal remains the same. A large 6 storey building, unsympathetic to its location, poorly designed”

“The exit and entrance into George Street is the most dangerous exit on Hanwell Broadway with a blind junction on the east side onto the Uxbridge Road”

“The Daylight report is totally incomplete and has omitted information”

“The external ultra-modern lighting that is to be used so the buildings are secure, this will have a total adverse effect on my home from light pollution.”

“The gardens of Block B the huge townhouses have got trees planted along the boundary / party wall, leading to security risk and further loss of light.”

looks good to me – we need more housing in the borough and this will be a vast improvement on the current site
